A Font of Shellfish-Lore! After all, it IS “the year of the Oyster”! So what about those luscious Delaware bivalves? Food for thought, as Rutgers Cousteau Center, New Jersey’s Sea Grant, and the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary come together to let you in on what they‘re doing to keep oystering (and other forms of shellfish harvesting) alive and well in South Jersey. Come talk to the experts--take in the exhibits--learn the history and traditions of shellfishing and fisheries and get the inside scoop on oyster aquaculture and restoration in our nearby coastal waters. More info? Call Lisa Calvo: Rutgers University’s Cousteau Center at Bridgeton: 856-575-5580. FREE.

Hear the wild birds call and the White Tiger roar! Nominal $1/ person charge (with all proceeds to RiverFest Fund) includes kayak or canoe, paddles, and safety information. Bottled water available for a small extra charge. And while you’re here, check out our display of retail boats & accessories too!
